Nanometric‐Thick Metal‐Free h‐Boron Nitride/Graphene Films as Base Catalyst for the Synthesis of Benzoxazoles

Catalysts are frequently used as pelletized powdered materials, but rarely thin films. The present work reports the use of 2D h-boron nitride on few layers defective graphene (h-BN/fl-G) films about 10 nm thickness base catalyst for synthesis benzoxazoles by coupling a 2-amino-phenol with p-substituted benzaldehydes. benzoxazole derivatives has aroused much interest in last decades due to their application potent anticancer agents against MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. results demonstrate that these nanometer-thick exhibit three orders magnitude higher activity than K2CO3 taken benchmark catalyst. selectivity h-BN/fl-G depend nature substituents benzaldehyde, solvent reaction temperature.

Sulfonic acid functionalized SBA-15 as a nanoporous acid catalyst was used in the synthesis of 2-Aryl benzoxazoles 4 by the condensation of 2-aminophenol 1 and benzoyl chlorides 2 under microwave irradiation in solvent free reaction conditions.
